ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AND WELDING TECHNOLOGY 1 is a state of the art, industry based shop environment designed for the student who is ready to develop skills and understanding of manufacturing, welding and metal fabrication. Students will learn skills that will prepare them to further their education/career for industries such as building fabrication, machining, construction, foundry work, agricultural, aerospace and many more. This learning opportunity will provide hands-on practice and knowledge, which could lead to industry certification and college credits. Students who are successful in this class are ready for their post high school step of career, trade school, community college, or university. This is a Boeing partner program and students who earn their CorePlus Certification are eligible for an interview.

Class subjects include: Safety, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Welding (GMAW, SMAW, GTAW), fabrication, safety, aerospace drilling and riveting, CNC Plasma Cutting, CNC Laser cutting/engraving, and more. Students have the opportunity to earn the following certifications/qualifications: COREPlus Manufacturing Certification; OSHA 10 hr Construction Safety; Forklift/Scissor Lift Operator; First Aid/CPR; Rigging; Students In the program may qualify for as many as 10.4 Walla Walla Community College credits.

* A Welding jacket, helmet, safety glasses, gloves and a tape measure will be provided for student use.
