ADVANCED MANUFACTURING AND WELDING TECHNOLOGY 2 is a continuation of the skills learned in AMWT 1. Students will widen their manufacturing skills by getting hands-on experience using manual and CNC lathes and milling machines. They will also learn to weld on aluminum and stainless steel as well as continue to improve their overall welding and fabrication skills. A particular emphasis will be Placed on quality assurance and project management.

This learning opportunity will provide hands-on practice and knowledge, which could lead to industry certification and college credits. Students who are successful in this class are ready for their post high school step of career, trade school, community college, or university. This is a Boeing partner program and students who earn their CorePlus Certification are eligible for an interview.

Students have the opportunity to earn the following certifications/qualifications: COREPlus Manufacturing Certification; OSHA 10hr Construction Safety; Forklift/Scissor Lift Operator; First Aid/CPR; Rigging; Students in the program may qualify for as many as 10.4 Walla Walla Community College credits.

* Welding jacket, helmet, safety glasses, gloves and a tape measure will be provided for student use.
