This one semester course is 80% online and 20% in-person lab work. Concepts covered in the Physical Science standards include states of matter, chemical and physical properties, types of bonding, periodic table trends, covalent and ionic compounds, and types and rates of chemical reactions. Concepts covered in the Earth Science standards include weathering and erosion, water cycles and cycles of matter, topographic mapping, and the Earth’s surface. Five 2-hour sessions of engaging, small group lab activities will help students build skills in the NGSS science practices and offer the opportunity to ask questions and work collaboratively with others.
