Arizona State University (ASU) Universal Learner Courses

New for the 2023-24 school year, Walla Walla School District offers a blended model where students remain enrolled and connected to WWPS, have access to high school content staff for support, and can take up to 2 college courses per semester through Arizona State University.  This program offers the flexibility of off campus options such as Running Start, with the enhanced benefit of earning ASU credit, the option to have the coursework transcripted after completion, and be provided ongoing support and monitoring from high school teachers and staff.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Available for 9-12th grade students
  • Students receive both high school credit and ASU college credit that tends to be more widely transferrable (check your anticipated college of attendance about credit transfer policies)
  • Ability to earn industry mastery certificates (e.g. Google IT Professional)
  • Students can take up to 2 courses per semester and still have access to 2-3 courses at their high school
  • A student can choose to transcript the college course once completed as long as they earn a C grade or better
  • Free of charge for WWPS students
  • If a student earns an F grade or withdraws (after the first 20 days) from an ASU course, the parent will be required to reimburse the District for the course's cost of $250.00.
